Man avoids arrest after line of ‘cocaine’ turns out to be mashed potato

Police in Brest, France stopped two men in their twenties after they spotted one of them holding his phone horizontally and sniffing a pale powder. The two men confessed everything, reports 20 Minutes.

One of them had bought some LSD from the other, and the buyer had thrown in a line of ‘cocaine’ as a bonus. Except it wasn’t cocaine.  was let off while his friend was taken in for questioning over possession of LSD. However we imagine that when someone wants cocaine, mashed potato isn’t really an acceptable substitute. In this bizarre incident it was a blessing in disguise.
