Kevin de Bruyne: Manchester City got their Man

Manchester City have signed Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne from German side Wolfsburg for a club-record fee.

The 24-year-old has agreed a six-year deal and is City's fourth high-profile summer arrival after Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Nicolas Otamendi.

He joined Wolfsburg in January 2014 for a reported £16.7m after making three Premier League appearances for Chelsea.
Wolfsburg won last season's German Cup and finished second in the Bundesliga.
Chelsea signed the winger from Belgian side Genk for a fee in the region of £6.7m in January 2012.

De Bruyne doesn't have a chiselled physique or model good looks. Nor does he bring the glamour of a South American import.

He won't be the pin-up. He won't be the icon. He'll just be what he is - a bona fide brilliant football player.

His 20 assists last season were more than anyone else in Europe. His 15 goals more than any fellow midfielder bar Footballer of the Year Eden Hazard managed at former club Chelsea in the same time. He may be baby-faced but he's already a master of his craft.
