Somali militant group al-Shabaab on Saturday rammed an explosives-laden vehicle at a military training camp in Southern Somalia, killing at least 12 people, witnesses and officials said.
The attack took place in strategic port town of Kismayo which was a former stronghold for the al-Qaeda-linked extremists.
According to witnesses, most of the dead were soldiers who were being trained to fight against the militants which still control some parts of the country, though losing major territories.
Al-Shabaab officials claimed the responsibility of the attack and said that it had killed many senior military officials and soldiers.
