As police pursue the suspect in the fatal on-air shooting of a journalist and a cameraman, here are live updates. Refresh for the latest:
The man suspected of killing two WDBJ employees has killed himself, according to the Augusta police sheriff.
There are unconfirmed local reports that Flanagan has shot himself. It is unclear if he is still alive.
The parent company of WDBJ-TV, CBS News, reports the shooter's car has been found, but the gunman remains at large.
The US news broadcaster ABC has said it received a 23-page fax from someone claiming to be Bryce Williams (also known as Vester Lee Flanagan). They have turned it over to the authorities.
In a now taken-down Twitter account, Flanagan told followers that he had filmed the shooting, and claimed that one of those killed, Adam Ward, had reported him to HR.
A video apparently filmed by the gunman has been taken down. It appeared to show the attacker walking up to the reporter, cameraman and interviewee before firing at them.
Flanagan was a former employee of the CBS affiliate station, and he reported on television using the name Bryce Williams.
Officials have identified the suspect as Vester Lee Flanagan, a 41-year-old man.
A third person was injured during the shooting. Vicki Gardner, of the Smith Mountain Regional Chamber of Commerce, was being interviewed by Alison Parker at the time. She is in surgery.
Employees of WDBJ-TV, the station which employed Alison Parker and Adam Ward, have been told to stay inside their offices and have been given police protection.
The governor of Virginia has said the suspect is believed to be a disgruntled employee of the station, and added his arrest was "imminent". It is unclear whether he was still working for the station at the time of the attack.
WDBJ's general manager, Jeffrey A. Marks, has described the incident as "a terrible crime against two fine journalists". He added: I cannot tell you how much they were loved, Alison and Adam. Our hearts are broken."
Alison Parker was dating the network's 6pm anchor, Chris Hurst. He has tweeted: "We were together almost nine months. It was the best nine months of our lives. We wanted to get married. We just celebrated her 24th birthday."
A video shows Ms Parker smiling when eight shots are picked up by the microphone. She screams and runs, and says "oh my God". The camera is dropped to the ground, and captures what appears to be a fleeting image of the shooter.
The shooting took place at 6.45am during a live interview at a shopping centre. A 24-year-old reporter, Alison Parker, and her 27-year-old cameraman Adam Ward, were killed. It is not clear what the shooter's motive was.
