FA investigating complaint that Jose Mourinho called Eva Carneiro "daughter of a w****"

Chelsea's doctor Eva Carneiro appears to have an argument with Jose Mourinho

The FA is gathering evidences due to a complaint made by a member of the public that Jose Mourinho used abusive or sexist language towards Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro last month. FA bosses are studying footage of Mourinho's rant towards the axed club doctor, after a member of the public made an official complaint about the language he used.

Mourinho can be heard on film shouting "filha da puta", a Portuguese insult which translates as "daughter of a w****".

The war of words occurred during the Premier League opener against Swansea at Stamford Bridge on August 8. However, it is believed that the complaint will not result in prosecution.

FA regulations state that members of the playing and managerial staff can get penalties for "offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures".

In a statement the FA said: "The FA has received an enquiry relating to an alleged incident during the Premier League fixture between Swansea v Chelsea on 8 August, and will make no further comment at this time."
Carneiro was dropped from all first-team activities after she ran onto the pitch - alongside fellow physio Jon Fearn - to treat Eden Hazard, meaning that he would have to be temporarily removed from the field of play.
Chelsea, who were already down to 10 men after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was sent off, had to play a short period of the game with nine players on the pitch as a result. This left Mourinho steaming, insisting that his medical staff should understand the repercussions their actions have on the match.
But Carneiro could be returning to work with the first-team very shortly, amid reports she's been asked to return to their Cobham training base today.

It is thought that Carneiro could eventually return to the bench on match-days. She has not been seen in nearly a month at Chelsea's hub.

It is believed that Carneiro has been taking legal advice from law firm Mishcon de Reya relating to her change of roles at the club, following the incident.

Fearn, meanwhile, has continued to be working with team and is expected to make a return to the Chelsea bench in the near future.
