Jordan Ibe Has Decided To Play for England – Oliseh

Jordan Ibe

Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh has revealed Jordan Ibe’s decision to give a priority to playing for England ahead of Nigeria.

In an announcement on his official Twitter account on Sunday afternoon, Oliseh said he received a call from the 19-year-old’s family informing him of Ibe’s decision.

According to Oliseh: “Jordon Ibe’s Family Informed me by a Telephone call, that He was giving priority to an England call up. We wish them well.”

It will be recalled that Oliseh had on August 5 made a personal appeal to Ibe to consider playing for his father’s country, Nigeria.

England coach Roy Hodgson had earlier today stated that he would not be handing Ibe a shirt just because he was afraid that Nigeria might snatch him up.

Jordan Ibe, who plays as a forward for Liverpool FC, has played in the England under 18, under 19, under 20 and under 21 levels.

However, he is yet to be capped at the senior level for the Three Lions, which means he is still eligible to play for Nigeria.
