A 24-year-old woman was shot & killed in front of her 3 kids

Early Sunday morning, neighbors said they woke up to the sounds of Shelby County Sheriff Office vehicles and flashing lights around a house on Crosswater Lane MEMPHIS, TN .

"I mean the whole street was filled with police cars and people," neighbor Tina Marshall said.

Shelby County Sheriff's deputies said they found 24-year-old Trenisha Bean unresponsive at the bottom of the home's stairway.

Tina Marshall lives across the street and said the Bean family rushed to the home after hearing the news.
"I know it was probably her family members cause I seen people out here grieving and crying and hugging," Marshall added.
Investigators said it appears Bean was shot multiple times.

Marshall said Bean lived in the home with her boyfriend and small children.

"Small babies like 2, 3, 4 years old. I used to see kids playing in front yard," Marshall said.

Other neighbors said the couple hasn't lived in the home very long, maybe six or seven months at the most.

Friends have been sharing Bean's pictures and posting condolences on Facebook.

Her mysterious death has neighbors concerned.

“Yes it’s very shocking and disturbing, because it’s so close to home, and like I said, we don't get this often here. It is very quiet and peaceful,” Marshall said.

And now that quiet peace has been disturbed.

“Prayers go out to the family, the kids because they were in the home to see this you know. They have to live with that for the rest of their lives."

There is no suspect in custody at this time, but the investigation is active and ongoing.
