Lamar has made his first steps at LA hospital but may need a kidney transplant sas Khloe K

Lamar Odom apparently out of immediate danger, Khloe Kardashian has taken a moment to make her first public statement since his collapse. In a statement on her app and website www.khloewithak.com, she wrote on Tuesday:

Her statement came after Odom was airlifted from Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at around 5.30pm on Monday. 

Khloe Kardashian is shelling out big bucks for Lamar Odom‘s recovery, In her most recent splurge, she spent $120,000 for her ex’s helicopter transport back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas.

According to an insider, “Khloe and Kris had been working for several days to arrange the medically equipped helicopter for Lamar. As soon as the doctors said Lamar was stable enough to go, Khloe gave the green light for the transport to come to Vegas to get him.”

“It was only about an hour and a half trip from Las Vegas to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles,” the source continued. “The cost was $120,000 which wasn’t covered by medical insurance. But Khloe had no issue paying, even though her mom questioned if Lamar could be billed directly. Khloe appreciated her mom’s concern, but told her it was already paid for, and ended the conversation.”

Despite this good news, Odom is still facing many challenges and may need to get a transplant as his kidneys are still failing and have yet to recover following his recent bender at a Nevada brothel 

TMZ spoke with a source familiar with the basketball star's condition who said that this is one of the reasons Odom is moving to Los Angeles for care as his 'kidneys are shot.'
