Manchester City's Sergio Aguero takes cringeworthy selfie with David Cameron and Xi Jinping

Sometimes, just sometimes, something happens in our lives which makes us sit down and actually contemplate the universe. What the hell is this life? What does it mean?

And what sort of world is it that allows David Cameron to dive face-first into a selfie with Sergio Aguero ?
If you haven't seen it already (and you almost certainly have), here is the selfie to end all selfies - a snap which will inevitably plunge you into existential despair. Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has taken a picture of himself with Chinese President Xi Jinping , which is pretty surreal in and of itself.

However, David Cameron has also made his way into the picture. The result is really quite astonishing.

Note that Sergio has not said: "Thank you for the selfie, Mr Cameron!" That may have something to do with the fact that, while Xi Jinping looks stately and aloof here, David Cameron appears to have physically leaped into the photo using his face as some sort of pictorial battering ram.

Seriously, we have never actually seen someone so desperate to be in a picture. Cameron has the insanely enthusiastic air of a first-year uni student on a posh lads holiday in Ibiza, the zealous grin of a man who really wants his Facebook friends to think he's having a good time "raving" and "sampling the banter".

Unsurprisingly, Twitter has gone absolutely spare over the whole thing.
In light of the selfie, we think it's time for all of you to contemplate whether you want to live on this planet anymore. Because this is the Mother of all Selfie!
