Drink driver was nicked when he calls the cops to say he’s run out of fuel

A blundering drink-driver nicked himself  by dialing 999 to complain his car had run out of petrol.Call centre worker Andrew Davies, 19, rang emergency services at 4am after a boozing session,

A court heard he told the 999 operator: “I know it’s not really an emergency, but I don’t know who else to call.”

The boozy teenager was met by police after his MG Rover ZR broke down. They found him staggering along the side of the road with a petrol can in his hands - and ordered him to undergo a breathalyser. Davies, of Ammanford, West Wales, was given a 14-month driving ban and told to pay £477 in fines, costs and charges by Llanelli magistrates.
